Over 26 weeks you will have the opportunity to gain extensive hands on experience as well as formal training leading towards an industry recognised qualification.
We are looking for people who may not have traditional qualifications but are creative, have a passion for the media and a keen interest in sport, music or news.
The programme will enable trainees get a strong understanding of the skills needed to make great content and the opportunity to get a better understanding of the world of media, to help them on their way to finding their dream job.
The Media Traineeship Project will:
Start in April 2008 and run full time. An initial 13 weeks training towards a Level 3 Qualification in Media Techniques Include a work attachment of up to 13 weeks in the media industry.
We are looking for people who:

Training will provide an opportunity to:
- Explore Audio Production & Digital Editing Techniques
- Acquire Journalistic & Web Interactivity Skills
- Achieve the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Media TechniquesMedia Techniques

The qualification includes the following units:
Media Industries: Organisation, Regulation & Practice Research & Recording Information Radio Journalism
Newspaper and Magazine Journalism Sound Recording Techniques Interactive Web Techniques
The initial 13 weeks training will take place at:
CSV Springboard, The Highcross Centre, Unit 9, Fountayne Rd, Tottenham, London W15 4QL.
New Deal
The Project will be delivered as part of the New Deal initiative across London.
To be eligible for New Deal applicants usually need to be unemployed and have been in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance for at least 6 months. Entry to New Deal is through New Deal Personal Advisers at local Jobcentres.
Allowances & Costs
Whilst on the Project, participants will receive: their current Jobseekers Allowance/Benefit; a Training Allowance of £15 per week; and a contribution to travel costs to and from training and work attachment All necessary training tools and materials will be provided and exam fees will be covered.
